It has been a long day... we made it home after 5 hours in a waiting room, over 4 hours of surgery, 2 hours of recovery and a 1 hour drive home! The surgeon said Daniel's cholesteatoma was large and he had to remove the stapes bone and 1/2 of the incus bone. These are 2 on the 3 inner ear bones that allow sound to get in. Daniel will not be able to hear out of his left ear until he has it surgically reconstructed in 6-12 months. We are hoping it will be closer 6 months so that he can be fully recovered and hearing well before kindergarten next Fall.
Thank you for all the prayers said for our family and especially for Daniel today! I can not begin to tell you what a peaceful experience this was! Daniel did not cry one time! Not even as he was waking from surgery! He is amazing and so sweet!

Rejoicing over an overall smooth experience! Thanks for the updates throughout the day... Daniel is so precious! Praying that the next 6-12 months until his hearing is restored goes smoothly as well.

We are soo happy everything went well. He's such a tropper. It looks like he has nice suggley jammies on and his john deer green...what more can he ask for!!

Oh Sarah...I'm SO thankful that he is okay and healing well. We will continue to pray for him. I haven't been online for about a week, so I didn't know the surgery was coming up...please give Daniel my love.
